In a modern building of 13,000 m2, with the latest generation of machine tools, Mecar’s machine shop has been created to offer a maximum amount of flexibility for the production of ammunition.

Thanks to a major and continual investment program, the new generation of CNC lathes and milling centres are able to switch from one product to the next with a minimum amount of downtime. This flexibility allows Mecar to respond to our clients needs regardless of the size of the requirement.

The machine shop is able to handle all of the components that make up a Mecar round, from a tungsten penetrator, or a 155mm shell body, to a fuze component for a hand grenade. Mecar is also equipped with several plastic injection moulding machines which can manufacture grenade bodies, packaging components and projectile slip rings.
